Hero Initiative Archie (And Avengers)
Item! Y'all probably know that we at the studio are huge Hero Initiative supporters. You may also know that the newest Hero Initative sketch cover project (Featuring sketch covers by Fleecs, Moreno, Rodriguez AND Dos Santos amongst others) is called Archie: 50 Times an American Icon. You may have heard that I drew the sketch that's on the cover of that upcoming collection. But did you know that the book is available for pre-order right now?! That's right it's in the November 2010 Previews Catalog, take a look!

Previews Order#: NOV10 0953
SRP: $10.00
As always, if you don't know where to find your local comic shop, check out the Comic Shop Locator.

The covers themselves have started going up on ebay so if you've got some dough to contribute to a good cause-- head on over there and put a bid down.

Also, we all contributed to the upcoming Hero Initiative New Avengers #1 Cover project. The Initiative's posted up a couple of those, so I'm sure it's OK to post those up here too. Check them out:

Zombie Dickheads

ITEM! Chris Moreno's newest creator owned masterpiece debuts in the next issue of Terminal Press' Zombie Bomb anthology. I have read it and I can say without hesitation that it's his best work to date. Definitely worth searching out when the book drops.

Chris has been posting some process stuff over at his Deviantart. Here's a look at some of that.

Marvel Heroes and Villains Trading Cards

The newest Marvel/Rittenhouse card set came out recently, it features rare sketch cards from all the guys in the studio. Head out to your local comics and cards shop or hobby shop or whatever and pick up a box- every box has an original sketch inside... Some of those original sketches are by us. OR hit up ebay and search for us over there.

We've all got Artist Proof cards from the Heroes and Villains set. If you're interested in commissioning one of us to draw on an artist proof card for you, all you have to do is ask... and then pay money...

Long Beach Comic Con Wrapup
Thanks to everyone who came out and supported at the 2nd annual Long Beach Comic Con. We had a great time out there. To wrap up today's post, here's a look at some of the sketches from the show as well as all the new prints that we debuted at the show. Enjoy!

Ok, that's all for now (That's more than enough, right?) Thanks for checking in with us, we'll be back soon with more.

Motel Hell #1 in stores this week!

Hey Folks!

So, Moreno's still on the east coast recovering from last week's NYCC. But if he were here, I'm sure he'd want you to know that his new IDW book, (an adaptation/update of the "classic" 1980 Rory Calhoun film of the same name) is in stores this week! And that you should all go buy it. And that he thinks Tony Fleecs is the most handsome artist in comics. And if you don't live near a comic book store, I'm sure Chris'd want you to go online and get yourself a copy that way.

Still need convincing? Here's a look at some interior art from issue #1 over at Chris' Deviantart.

So go buy it! And we'll be back soon with some more new stuff.

October Previews, NYCC & More!

Hey Everybody!

Hope all 17 of you blog followers are well (and also our 20 twitter pals.) Here's a look at what the studio's up to these days.

First up- Previews! Short list this time but anyone who knows Chris Moreno knows that he's often working while the rest of us are looking at television or goofing off. This month, his diligence brings us--

MOTEL HELL #3 (of 3)

OCT10 0430
SRP: $3.99

Next up! The studio will be represented out in NY this weekend. Chris, Mark and Lauren will all be set up. Make sure you swing by their tables and pick something up. Mark dos Santos will be debuting an awesome new print at the show and it looks like this...

Pretty sweet, right? The colors are by Mark's #1 guy Steve-O.

New York Comic Con
October 8 - 10, 2010
Jacob K. Javits Center

Lastly: You may remember a few months back All the guys in the studio did covers for the Hero Initiative's Archie 50 project (don't remember? Here you go.) So that book's coming out in January and in an surprising and humbling (not that I can handle too much more humbling) move, the folks at Archie & Hero decided to use my cover for the cover of the whole book.

Cool, right? Make sure to pick up the book in January. Inside you'll find amazing work by John Romita, Joseph Michael Linsner, George Perez, Cliff Chiang, Joe Jusko, Sam Kieth and many more. Support the Initiative, they do good work for a good cause.

OK- that's all for this time. Make sure to check in early and often for all your... knowing about what me and the other studio guys are up to... needs.

Peaceout everybody!

That's Right. We're on Twitter. You got a problem with that? You're so cool, right?

Sorry. Anyway, we're on twitter (right here.) The only stuff we put up is pictures-- Work in progress stuff and when we post a new blog update (like this one.) It's like a Garage Art Studios behind the scenes tour whenever we feel like posting stuff up. Mainly we're on it so that we can have easy new content for this very site. All the twitpics show up right here on that little widget (up and to the right). So even if you're too cool for twitter, you can still see the stuff right here.

Finally today, we bought a domain name just in case you're tired of typing in dot blogspot dot com dot org etc, You can now find this very site at simply,

Simple, right?

Ok, convention fans, get ready to for a maximum dosage of G.A.S. this weekend and the next!  That's right, we're leaving the confines of the Cali garage and spreading our sickness East.  Like the Oregon Trail, except in reverse.

First up, the lovely Lauren Perry and I will be heading to Baltimore, MD for the Baltimore Comicon!  It's gonna be jam-packed with comic book stars-- and hey, we'll be there, too!

Lauren's got a metric butt ton of new Blank-ees, a brand new batch of the cutest little pop art paintings of your favorite characters you've ever seen!  Here's but a sampling-- see if you can guess each one!

I'll be unveiling 4 new prints, promoting my brand-new project, Zombie Dickheads, which will be debuting in the new Zombie Bomb anthology from Terminal Press.  Each one features a different member of the titular dickheads.  Here's a sneak peak:

The following weekend, we'll be joined in Atlanta, GA by the rest of the G.A.S. crew, Tone, Tony, and Mark, for Dragon Con-- one of the premiere congregations of like-minded geeks in the country!  It'll be a full-on blast!  And we'll be right smack in the middle of it.  So stop on by and say hi, or grab some prints or sketches.  We love you, we love your money.
